Emotional Overexposure + Folklore CD

We’ve just added a new zine by Emma Markala, author of zines such as The Department of Forgiving, Shiny Prairie and Tower of Journal. As with those zines, it contains Emma’s choppy collages and poetry.

We have also finally updated the details for Folklore, a CD-R by Syd Terminal (Hole in the Ground, A Walk Around Pendle Hill etc) so that you can now actually buy it! Sorry it took so long, Syd.

Of course, we haven’t given you enough time to order these for Christmas, but we hope you have a good one anyway, and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support over this year, particularly to everyone whose zines we’ve stocked and everyone who’s ordered from us. This year has been a very productive one for Take Care, in terms of mail-order: over the years (ha! we can actually say that now, pretty good, hey?) we’ve gone from having very sporadic mail-order sales and having to rely on attending lots of zine fairs to sell zines, to having a pretty reliable, steady, weekly flow of mail-order sales. Which is great, because that’s what we really wanted the focus of the distro to be: a mail-order zine service. It feels very cool to have achieved this. So, thanks again!

So, January 1 2014 will be our official 4th anniversary. In previous years we’ve made a newsletter to mark this occasion (the 2013 newsletter was pretty delayed and didn’t come out till March) but this year we’ve printed a mini pocket calendar on Tim’s Adana letterpress, which will be sent out in lieu of a newsletter. We have a lot of cutting and trimming to do to get in out in time for January, but stay tuned for progress.
